Sometimes, it’s nice to read a heartwarming story.
A client reached out to me with a request to identify and contact her half sister. She knew only of her sister’s existence, but nothing else, because the connection is through a birth father neither of them have known.
After some digging, I connected with my client’s paternal aunt who stated that the sister actually contacted her a few years ago, searching for my client! The aunt wasn’t able to help her at the time because she didn’t know anything about my client… until now.
The aunt had held onto the sister’s contact information, just in case. She passed that onto me and I put the two sisters in contact with each other.
Their first phone conversation lasted until 4:00 am. They spoke over the phone many times, sharing their lives and their stories. Then they decided to meet in person. They met each other’s families. Both say it’s like they’ve known each other their whole lives.
The two sisters went sky diving together. They got matching tattoos. My client took senior photos for her sister’s daughter. With each new adventure, my phone buzzes with more photos of the two of them hanging out and being sisters, making up for lost time. A few of them are hanging on the wall of my office, just to make me smile.
My client says of her sister, “I love her so much. We’re bonded for life now.” Makes me so happy.
